Trust Wallet Hack Exposes New Crypto Supply Chain Threat
Trust Wallet confirmed that attackers uploaded a fake version of its browser extension without proper review. The malicious update allowed hackers to run transactions and steal wallet data without user permission.
Around 2,520 wallet addresses were affected, with total losses of about $8.5 million. Trust Wallet has rolled back to the safe version and started compensating users. Early findings link the attack to a wider industry supply chain breach seen in November, raising new security concerns for the crypto space.
