WAL - is a decentralized protocol for data storage and access, developed on Sui. It provides users with the ability to securely, efficiently, and scalably store and retrieve large files ("blobs"), such as videos, images, PDF documents, artificial intelligence models, and blockchain histories. Unlike traditional cloud storage services such as Google Drive or Amazon S3, Walrus operates on a network of independent storage nodes rather than relying on a central authority. This ensures file availability even if individual nodes in the network fail.
