We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tarik Erk as the new regional president of Binance in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, where he will oversee the region, in addition to his role as chief executive officer in Abu Dhabi. This appointment comes as the region continues to evolve into a hub for digital assets and financial innovation, reflecting Binance's focus on building organized and reliable access to digital financial services across the region.
Erk hails from Buffalo, New York, and has over ten years of experience in regulatory compliance, market expansion, product launches, and government affairs in the digital assets and financial services sectors. His experience aligns with Binance's efforts to operate safely and in full compliance while expanding access to digital asset services in key markets.
A strong track record in digital assets and financial services
Erk began his career in digital assets in 2017 at Paxos in New York City, after holding positions at major financial institutions including JP Morgan Chase and Commerzbank. Before joining Binance, he served as the general manager for the Middle East and Africa at a digital assets firm, where he focused on expanding regulated operations in the region.
He has also been recognized as one of the most influential figures in the fintech ecosystem in Singapore by FinTech Nation, and previously served as a board member of the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Industry Association in Singapore.
