Bagan Dynasty
The Bagan Kingdom was the first powerful unified state in Myanmar's history, existing from the mid-9th century to the early 13th century.
Beginning
Although traditionally regarded as the founder of Bagan, historically, the true architect of Bagan as a strong kingdom was King Anawrahta.
King Anawrahta (1044–1077)
King Anawrahta unified the Bagan Kingdom
• Established Theravada Buddhism as the main religion
• After conquering Thaton, brought Buddhist scriptures and scholars to Bagan
