What happens when we try to use certain payment gateways that seem to make our lives easier but end up being a headache? Today I want to talk to you about Paymonade and its verification process, something that many of you have encountered when trying to buy directly on the exchange.
The promise sounds good: you choose your card, follow the steps, and you're done. But reality is very different. Instead of a smooth experience, you find yourself with an email that feels more like a tax audit than a simple identity validation. They are not satisfied with your identity document; the list of requirements is, frankly, excessive for the average user.
They ask for complete tax returns, payment receipts from the last three months, signed contracts, and even bank statements detailing every source of income. It's an enormous amount of private information that forces you to hand over practically the keys to your financial life to a third-party platform.
Furthermore, they get stuck in processes that do not fit with today's digital world. For example, they demand original documents and clearly tell you no screenshots, which means that any legitimate digital proof is outright rejected. In the end, what should be a quick solution turns into a bureaucratic wall that takes away your time and, above all, your privacy. In addition to the fact that the verification process wait is quite long, at least in my case it was almost 30 days, with 2 respective document corrections that took 3 to 7 days each to confirm.
For us, who seek agility and security, it is important to evaluate whether it is really worth going through such an invasive filter. Many times, what seems like the shortest path ends up being the most complicated and the one that unnecessarily exposes us.
Has any of you tried to complete this process like I did, or did you decide it was too much? If you have any extra data on how it went for you or if you know of another hurdle that I may have missed, please share it. The idea is that here in the workshop we are all well-informed so as not to waste time.
Until the next shift!
