๐บ๐ธ U.S. Declares Emergency Over Cuba-Related Security Concerns
President Donald Trump has announced a state of emergency in the United States, citing security threats he says originate from Cuba and its foreign alliances. The decision was confirmed through a presidential decree signed at the White House.
According to the document, the Cuban government maintains close ties with Russia, China, and Iran, as well as contacts with groups the U.S. considers hostile, including HAMAS and Hezbollah. The administration argues that these relationships undermine U.S. national security.
The decree also claims that Cuba hosts advanced military and intelligence facilities, including a major Russian electronic intelligence site allegedly used to collect sensitive information related to the United States.
In response, the administration authorized economic countermeasures, including the possibility of additional tariffs on countries that supply oil to Cuba. U.S. officials say these steps are necessary to protect national security and counter growing external threats.
