Berkshire Hathaway's $176 Billion Trade Is Now Available Onchain
Berkshire Hathaway's most valuable asset isn't a stock. It's $176 billion in insurance float.
That's the money policyholders have paid in premiums that Berkshire hasn't paid out in claims yet. It sits on the balance sheet and gets invested for Berkshire's benefit.
Buffett has called it "better than free money." A big part of that float comes from reinsurance.
Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group is one of the largest reinsurers on earth, and it threw off $2.7 billion in underwriting profit last year.
This is the trade Buffett built his fortune on. For sixty years, retail has had no way to access it. Getting in required an insurance license and a massive capital base, which left individuals out by default.

The Mechanism
You deposit stablecoins into an Insurance Capital Layer. RE allocates that capital to fully collateralized reinsurance treaties written by licensed insurers. The yield you earn is your share of the premium economics.
Two products serve different risk profiles:
- reUSD: senior tranche, paying the base rate plus 250 bps with instant redemptions when buffer is open.
- reUSDe: junior tranche, paying a wider 850 bps spread over base in exchange for quarterly redemption windows.
What You Can See
Most RWA projects ask you to trust them. RE shows you. Off-chain bank balances get attested daily by The Network Firm and pushed on-chain through Chainlink. Custody sits at Fireblocks, with smart contracts audited by Certora and Hacken.

reUSD is a standard ERC-20, live across Curve, Pendle, Morpho, and seven chains.
