FTX era uno de los exchanges (plataformas para comprar y vender criptomonedas) más grandes del mundo, casi tan grande como Binance. Su dueño era un joven llamado Sam Bankman-Fried (conocido como SBF), que salía en todas las revistas y era visto como un "genio" de las finanzas.
