🚀 #VitalikButerin redesign the Ethereum engine

The "Roadmap" for massive scaling without losing decentralization

The co-founder of #Ethereum has just published his most ambitious technical vision to date.

After years delegating growth to Layer 2, #Vitalik is refocusing on the base layer (L1) with a master plan: to immediately increase transaction capacity, optimize the use of the 12 seconds per block, and revolutionize the fee system before the network becomes "too heavy".

Real-Time Efficiency: Buterin proposes the ePBS (Enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation), which will arrive with the Glamsterdam update. This will allow nodes to process different parts of a block in parallel and make the most of every 12-second window, eliminating "precautionary" downtime.

The end of all-inclusive Gas: Vitalik proposes to separate temporary processing costs from permanent storage costs. Implementing a contract (which takes up space forever) will be more expensive, while daily transactions will be cheaper.

The goal? To prevent the blockchain from growing uncontrollably.

Shielding for the small validator: The plan aims to prevent Ethereum from becoming an exclusive club for large corporations. By making long-term storage of massive data more expensive, it ensures that an average user can still operate a node from their home.

Evolution towards "Blobs": The blobs (data fragments), which today serve to lower costs for Layer 2s like #Optimism or #Arbitrum will become the standard for the main network itself. This, combined with Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZK-Proofs), will allow validation of transactions without having to process each one manually.

The Great Narrative Shift: After years focused on the "Rollup-centric roadmap", Buterin makes it clear that Ethereum's Layer 1 must be more powerful, efficient, and capable of handling more data on its own to survive the multi-chain future.
