Some ideas about technology change the way we look at things. They do not come with a lot of excitement or big promises. Instead they grow slowly in the background while we think about how the digital world's changing. My interest in the $ROBO token started in a way. At first it was another crypto project that had to do with robotics and blockchain.. The more I read about the bigger vision behind the @Fabric Foundation ecosystem the more I started to see it as part of a bigger change in technology.
For a time most machines and robots have worked in closed systems. For example a factory robot usually belongs to one company runs on that companys software and sends data back to that companys servers. The machine itself does not have its identity in the digital economy. It just does its job in a controlled environment.
The idea behind Fabric is different. The project is trying to build a system where machines, artificial intelligence systems and humans can work together through a shared network. Of working in separate systems robots could connect to a network where their actions, data and contributions are recorded and verified. That is where the ROBO token comes in.
From what I understand the ROBO token is designed to support the activity inside this ecosystem. It can help with payments, incentives and computational resources between participants. In terms it acts as a digital tool that allows machines, developers and users to work together economically within the same network.
