OpenAI offers USD 550 thousand in salary to hire an expert to prepare them for the dangers of AI

The American company intensifies the development of advanced mechanisms to ensure the protection and trust of users in the digital ecosystem

OpenAI published a job offer for a high-level position aimed at anticipating and mitigating the dangers of artificial intelligence, with an annual compensation of USD 555,000 plus shares.

The vacancy seeks to incorporate a preparation chief who will assume a fundamental role in identifying and responding to risks associated with users' mental health and cybersecurity, reflecting the increasing challenges linked to the massive deployment of AI models.

The position requires making crucial decisions from the moment of incorporation. In a post on X, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, emphasized the level of demand for the role: “It will be a high-pressure job where critical responsibilities will be faced from the start.”

The required profile must provide effective approaches to develop solutions that allow cybersecurity defenders to leverage cutting-edge capabilities, while blocking their misuse by malicious actors. The urgency of ensuring safe strategies for the release of biological capabilities and maintaining the integrity of self-improving systems is also raised.

This decision responds to the growing concern in the tech industry about the reputational and operational risks arising from the advancement of artificial intelligence.

A report released in November by a financial analysis consultancy indicated that, in the first eleven months of the last year, at least 418 companies valued at over USD 1,000 million mentioned risks related to AI in their reports to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
