PGI Global (Praetorian Group International) CEO Ramil Ventura Palafox has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in the United States for a Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than $200 million under the guise of Bitcoin and Forex trading.

Palafox, 61, raised money from more than 90,000 investors between late 2019 and 2021, offering incentives of up to 3% daily profit.

In total, more than $201 million was fraudulently obtained, including more than 8,000 Bitcoins (millions of dollars in current value).
