* Fake websites and platforms using the “Pyth” name were created to steal funds from users.
* Some investors lost millions by sending their tokens to the wrong addresses because of phishing techniques or “address poisoning.”
* The oracle network has already experienced significant pricing errors, notably in 2021 when an incorrect Bitcoin price was published, causing liquidations on certain platforms.

Regarding the most common scams around PYTH:

1. Fake exchanges or fake websites
Scammers created fake trading sites that looked like legitimate platforms. Victims connected their wallets, deposited funds, and saw a fake balance displayed, but they were unable to withdraw their money afterward.

2. Address poisoning
Hackers send small transactions from an address that closely resembles a known wallet address. The user then mistakenly copies the wrong address and sends funds to the hacker. One investor reportedly lost more than 3 million dollars in PYTH this way.

3. Oracle manipulation or pricing errors
Since PYTH provides prices to DeFi protocols, an error in the data can trigger liquidations or losses on platforms using those prices. In 2021, the Bitcoin price displayed by Pyth dropped to around $5,400 instead of the actual market price, leading to liquidations on certain protocols.

4. Smart contract risks
Like all crypto projects, Pyth depends on smart contracts and data feeds. If a vulnerability is discovered in a contract or in the way prices are aggregated, it can be exploited by hackers. That is why the project places strong emphasis on security audits.
