I used to think the hardest part of AI would be intelligence.
Now I am less sure. The harder part may be accounting.
Not accounting in the narrow financial sense, but the basic question of who contributed what. A model is trained on someone’s data. An agent uses someone’s tool. A business builds on someone’s model. A user’s behavior improves the system. Somewhere in that chain, value is created, but the record of contribution is usually messy, private, disputed, or missing.
