Long term is viewing at least a decade or more data on how the stock has moved over time. It is also Ideal for Cycle analysis which is critical for long term investors. The goal is to buy the stock at the beginning of its business cycle not at the end of its business cycle. Cycles are easier to read and interpret with cycle indicators such as DPO and other cycle indicators that remove the trend to reveal the cycle of that business.
