The recent price action of $XLM has created a confusing situation for and investors. While the underlying fundamentals of the Stellar ecosystem continue to improve, technical structure and order flow data are beginning to paint a much more cautious picture.
Over the past few days, XLM managed to deliver an impressive rally of nearly 17-18%, rewarding traders who positioned themselves early. However, the momentum that fueled that move now appears to be fading as bearish signals emerge across multiple market indicators.
One of the biggest concerns comes from the futures market. Recent data shows that open interest has increased while the Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) has declined. This combination typically suggests that new short positions are entering the market. In simple terms, more traders are betting on lower prices rather than higher ones.
Another warning sign is the behavior of funding rates. Earlier negative funding rates suggested heavy short positioning and created the possibility of a short squeeze. However, XLM failed to capitalize on that opportunity. Instead of forcing short sellers out of their positions, the price weakened further. Funding rates have now shifted back into positive territory, indicating that bearish pressure has not only remained but has also been supported by spot market selling.
From a technical perspective, the market structure remains weak. Although XLM experienced a temporary recovery, the broader trend still suggests that resistance near previous highs remains strong. The inability to break above key resistance levels has increased the probability of a deeper correction.
The first major support zone currently sits around $0.21 to $0.215. This area is supported by previous price action, important volume levels, and key market structure points. Traders should closely monitor this zone because it could provide temporary support.
However, if selling pressure continues, analysts believe $XLM could eventually move lower toward the $0.18 to $0.19 range. This would represent a deeper retracement before the market attempts to establish a stronger base for the next potential rally.
Despite these short-term concerns, the long-term fundamentals of Stellar remain highly encouraging. Total Value Locked (TVL) within the ecosystem has increased significantly, while the stablecoin market capitalization on the network has grown to approximately $760 million. Such growth suggests increasing adoption and potentially stronger institutional participation.
The challenge for bullish investors is that much of this positive development may already be reflected in the current market valuation. Markets often price in good news before it becomes widely recognized, and XLM's previous rally may have already accounted for a large portion of these fundamental improvements.
For now, the overall outlook remains mixed. The fundamentals are bullish, but the technical structure and order flow indicators favor further downside in the near term. Until buyers regain control and key resistance levels are reclaimed, traders should remain cautious and watch the $0.21 support zone closely.
If that support holds, $XLM could attempt another recovery. If it breaks, a move toward the high-$0.18 to low-$0.19 region becomes increasingly likely.
