Developers of Prysm have published a post-mortem analysis explaining the Fusaka mainnet incident that happened on December 4 and threatened the Ethereum network's stability.
Resource exhaustion of the consensus client due to costly state recomputation in the processing of some attestations led to severe operational problems for validators.
In all, the network missed about 41 epochs where validator participation fell as low as 75%, translating into some 382 Ethereum Ethereum.
