Game development company Studio369 is migrating its mech shooter #metalcore to the Solana blockchain.
According to an October 24 #announcement , the migration aims to improve the gaming experience through faster transactions on the blockchain. The Solana blockchain currently processes an average of about 3,000 transactions per second, one of the key metrics for measuring network performance.
MetalCore will also utilize Solana Labs' GameShift platform, which integrates the store and payment systems for in-game purchases. The game - a free open world with player versus player (PvP) and player versus environment (PvE) battles - allows users to collect assets from defeated opponents and convert them into Web3 assets for trading.
“Solana's high bandwidth ensures that all game activities requiring interaction with the blockchain will be nearly instantaneous,” the game developer said in a statement.
