Closing my $XRP short here for $160k profit.
The risk/reward has flipped. Upside potential now outweighs the downside, and I'm not about to let my gains evaporate chasing a larger target.
The setup:
- 5x leverage
- Max actual drawdown: ~14%
- Max I was willing to lose: 40%
Why risk 40%? Because I knew the reward justified it, and I was confident price wouldn't reach that stop. Just wanted protection against a random wick.
Some things to note:
Took longer than I wanted, and I hit my conservative target instead of my aggressive one. Had my capital locked up longer than I like.
But honestly? A win is a win. Happy to take it.
Bonus lesson: Do I still think we go lower? Huge chance, actually. The move looks incomplete, and my indicator is still flashing short. But here's the thing: I'm sitting on too much profit to gamble on "probably." Protecting giant gains > being right.
