The benchmark Indian equity indices Sensex and Nifty closed in red territory on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The BSE Sensex, after hitting an intraday low of 84,620.61, ended the session at 84,679.86, down 533.50 points or 0.63 per cent. The NSE Nifty50 settled at 25,860.10, down 167.20 points or 0.64 per cent. During the day Nifty50 swung between 25,980.75 and 25,834.35. Sensex and Nifty opened in red today. The BSE Sensex started at 85,025.61, while the Nifty 50 opened at 25,951.50.
