Pro-crypto U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis has announced she will not seek reelection in 2026 and will leave office when her term ends in 2027.

The Wyoming Senator cited exhaustion, saying she no longer has the energy for another six-year term, comparing herself to a “sprinter running a marathon.”

Lummis has been a key ally of President Trump’s pro-crypto agenda and a leading voice in Congress for digital assets. She played a major role in pushing forward the digital asset market structure bill, which has already passed the House but is still awaiting action in the Senate Banking Committee.

Her departure could mark a significant shift in crypto regulation leadership within the Senate, making the future path of U.S. crypto policy one to watch closely.
