BREAKING: Arizona Moves to Exempt Crypto from State Taxes
Arizona Senator Wendy Rogers just pre-filed 3 major crypto bills ahead of the 2026 legislative session:
📌 SB 1044 — Exempts virtual currency from state taxation
📌 SB 1045 — Bans cities and counties from taxing blockchain node operators
📌 SCR 1003 — Constitutional amendment to exclude crypto from property taxes
Key Points:
→ SB 1045 (node protection) can pass through legislature directly
→ SB 1044 and SCR 1003 require voter approval in November 2026
→ This follows Governor Hobbs vetoing a Bitcoin reserve bill earlier this year
→ Senator Rogers plans to refile that reserve bill next session
Why This Matters:
If passed, #Arizona becomes one of the most crypto-friendly states in the US for:
Miners
Node operators
Long-term holders
No more local taxes eating into your mining profits or node operations.
Note: Federal taxes still apply, this only covers state and local level.
Arizona is building something here. First the #Bitcoin reserve attempt, now tax exemptions. They're clearly competing with Texas and Wyoming for crypto business.
