According to CNN, Iraqi security sources report that nearly 5,000 fighters from Iranian-backed paramilitary groups in Iraq crossed into Iran over the past few weeks.
📍 Border crossings used:
▪️ Shaib Border (Maysan Province)
▪️ Zurbatiya Border (Wasit Province)
🎯 Purpose:
To assist Iranian authorities in the crackdown on anti-government protests in Tehran and other cities.
A European military source also confirmed that 800 additional Shiite militia fighters moved from Diyala, Maysan, and Basra.
These forces are linked to Tehran-aligned groups, including:
▪️ Kataib Hezbollah
▪️ Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba
▪️ Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada
▪️ Badr Organization
All operating under the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) umbrella.
