Starknet, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, released an analysis identifying a state inconsistency between its execution and proof layers as the cause of a January 11 mainnet outage. The issue, involving cross-function calls and rollbacks, triggered a block reorganization rolling back 18 minutes of on-chain activity. This outage follows a previous disruption in September 2025 caused by a sequencer vulnerability that led to longer downtime and a rollback of approximately one hour.
