Law enforcement authorities in the Sverdlovsk Region reported the detention of three suspects accused of illegally connecting cryptocurrency mining equipment to power grids.
According to officials, the damage caused to the energy infrastructure exceeded 16 million rubles. During operational and investigative activities conducted at multiple locations, more than 10,000 units of mining-related equipment were discovered and seized.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of the operation and assess responsibility.
