Vitalik finally spoke out after all the recent drama surrounding the Ethereum Foundation.
And this time, he didn’t just address the controversy… he revealed Ethereum’s long-term vision moving forward.

1️⃣ The Ethereum Foundation is NOT the center of Ethereum
Vitalik made it clear that EF was never meant to control the entire ecosystem.
The Foundation should only act as one “node” within Ethereum — with a specific mission, not as the organization handling everything.
In fact, EF currently holds only around 0.16% of the total ETH supply, far less than many individuals and entities.
Ethereum was never designed to depend on EF forever.
2️⃣ EF will sell less ETH, but it will also scale down its operations EF’s resources are limited.
Instead of trying to do everything at once, the Foundation wants to focus on Ethereum’s core values and preserve its long-term sustainability.
That means EF plans to reduce ETH sales, but in return it will narrow its scope and step back from many non-core activities.
3️⃣ Ethereum will NOT chase TPS and cheap fees at all costs
Vitalik admitted Ethereum still needs to scale further.
But ETH does not want to become just another chain competing only on speed, TPS, or ultra-low fees.
Instead, Ethereum wants to stand out through things that are much harder to replicate: security, decentralization, stability, and privacy. One quote from Vitalik stood out: “If Ethereum only tries to become the fastest chain, the most scalable chain, and just slightly more decentralized than competitors… then eventually it just becomes another ordinary blockchain.”
4️⃣ The recent team drama may actually be necessary
Vitalik believes talented people leaving EF is not entirely a bad thing.
If all the important builders stay inside EF, the broader ecosystem will struggle to attract capital, teams, and independent growth.
When strong builders move outside EF, they can create their own organizations, projects, and companies — while still contributing to Ethereum in a more decentralized way.
5️⃣ Ethereum needs more organizations building around it
According to Vitalik, there’s still a massive amount of work needed to grow ETH into a global asset.
But not everything should be handled by EF.
The Foundation will focus on Ethereum’s core infrastructure, while areas like marketing, storytelling, applications, and community expansion will need support from many other teams and organizations.
6️⃣ Nearly 90% of Vitalik’s net worth is still in ETH
Most of Vitalik’s personal wealth remains in ETH.
The remaining portion is mainly around $40M in on-chain fiat, which has already been allocated to open-source initiatives.
After all these long and honest comments… it seems many investors are still not fully satisfied.
But one thing is clear: Ethereum doesn’t want to become the fastest chain. It wants to become the most durable one.
