I'm looking at the charts and numbers from CryptoQuant, and the situation looks, to put it mildly, concerning. We're witnessing the toughest alt sell-off since the COVID dump of 2020.
Here’s the lowdown:
▪️Liquidity Drain: Over the last 15 months, around $209 billion has been flushed out of altcoins (excluding BTC and ETH). This isn’t just a correction; it’s a systematic capital exit.
▪️Paradigm Shift: The old reliable scheme of "When Bitcoin rises - profits flow into alts - we get those sweet x's" has broken down. Right now, liquidity is either evaporating or settling in the top cryptocurrency, leaving the rest of the market high and dry.
▪️The Result: Out of the top 100 by market cap, only 36 projects are in the green. The rest are surviving solely on good faith and the hopes of retail investors.
The CEO of CryptoQuant is absolutely spot on: the era of 'faith' is over. Now the market couldn’t care less about pretty promises in a WhitePaper. Today, only those with:
1. Real revenue.
2. A working product.
3. Liquidity and active users.
