I used to think USDT was completely safe... not so sure anymore.

---

So yeah, when I started using crypto, everyone was like “just park your money in USDT when things get volatile.”

And I did. Like a lot of us. Felt safe. Stablecoin = stable, right?

But the more I looked into it, the more it kinda freaked me out.

---

First of all, Tether can freeze your wallet. Like literally — they’ve done it before. It’s not even a conspiracy or anything. If they think you’re doing something shady (or if they just get told by someone else), they can stop you from moving your own funds. That’s wild.

---

Also… we’re all just kinda trusting them when they say “yeah, every USDT is backed 1:1 with real dollars.”

But they’ve been called out so many times for not having proper audits.

They do publish reports, but it’s not like a big-name audit firm going in and checking everything line by line.

---

And now with all the regulation stuff happening globally, you never know.

Imagine waking up and finding out your favorite exchange suddenly isn’t supporting USDT anymore, or withdrawals are paused. Happens fast in crypto.

---

I’m not saying sell all your USDT or panic or anything. I still use it.

But now I also keep some funds in FDUSD, DAI, even BUSD when it was a thing. Just to spread the risk.

---

Honestly, I think more people should talk about this. A lot of newbies just treat USDT like a “savings account,” and that’s risky thinking in this space.

---

What about you?

Are you still 100% in USDT? Or do you split it?

Would love to know how others are thinking about it.#
