💭 Why taking breaks in trading is part of the game

Last week, I closed all my positions and took three days off. The market was moving, opportunities were there, but I felt decision fatigue. It used to feel like laziness or missed profits.

Now I get it: a pause is a tool, not a weakness.

When you trade every day for months, your brain goes on autopilot. You stop noticing market changes and enter trades out of habit, not logic. Your analysis becomes superficial, and risks get underestimated.

Three days away from the charts gave me something that hundreds of hours in front of the screen couldn't — a fresh perspective. Coming back to trading, I spotted patterns I had previously ignored. I felt like I was back in control of the process rather than just going with the flow.

Now, I plan my breaks in advance. After a series of active weeks, I take 2-3 days off. Not because of losses or stress, but as a precaution. Like routine maintenance on a car.

Better to miss 10 average opportunities while tired than to blow your bankroll on one "obvious" trade that you misread 📈

How often do you allow yourself to take a break from trading? And what's stopping you from doing it more often?
