Researcher Taylor Hornby, along with Claude AI, discovered a critical vulnerability in the Orchard pool of Zcash. This bug had been around for about 4 years and allowed for the creation of an unlimited amount of fake $ZEC . It was only patched on June 2nd.
After the announcement, $ZEC plummeted 60% in a day from $625 to $285. And here's the kicker: some savvy trader was shorting from the $625 mark. Now that person is sitting on a profit of around $18.5 million.
