Right now, the gold price is about 900 yuan per gram, and we're not at the bottom yet. When will the real bottom hit? It's when oil prices shoot up to $150 per barrel, or even $200. At that point, inflation pressures will ripple through the global stock and bond markets, and a ton of institutions will need to provide margin. That's when they'll dump all their gold for cash, and then funnel that cash into the stock or bond markets. That's when we'll see the true bottom for gold prices. After that, as high oil prices start to wreck consumer spending and stabilize, it means inflation is starting to spread. At that point, gold prices will begin to bounce back from the bottom.
