⚖️ Kraken sues its partner in court: its account balance is "mysteriously" short by $4 million

Kraken has officially filed a lawsuit against the crypto derivatives platform PowerTrade, accusing it of misappropriating funds.

What exactly happened?

According to Kraken, the relevant accounts were supposed to have a positive balance of about $6 million, but after verification, they turned into a shortfall of roughly $2 million—leaving a gap close to $4 million with no clear whereabouts.

These types of inter-agency fund disputes are rarely made public in the normal course of business. Reaching the litigation stage this time suggests that the two sides failed to reach an agreement through private discussions.
