The news hit my feed like a quiet knock on the door. On May 14, lawmakers are holding a hearing on the CLARITY Act. I’ve been watching these things for a while now. Bills come and go, full of big words and smaller results. But every once in a while one actually tries to clear up the fog instead of adding more. Right now plenty of people builders, creators, everyday folks using new tools are stuck guessing what the rules are. One day something feels fine, the next day it might not. That uncertainty slows everything down. You hesitate before you try, before you invest time or money, before you speak up. The CLARITY Act sounds like an attempt to change that. Not with flashy slogans, but with straight answers. Clear lines so people know where they stand. Less guessing, more doing. May 14 isn’t some far off date. It’s this week. A few days from now, people will sit in a room, ask questions, push back, and try to shape what that clarity actually looks like. I don’t expect perfection to come out of one hearing. These things take time. But it feels like a step that matters because when the path ahead is less muddy, more of us can walk it without constantly looking over our shoulder.
I’ll be paying attention. If you care about rules that actually make sense instead of rules that just confuse, you might want to keep an eye on it too.
