Robinhood’s CA$250 million, approximately $180 million, acquisition of WonderFi received final regulatory approval. CIRO approved WonderFi subsidiary Coinsquare Capital Markets on May 20. Both companies set June 1 as the expected closing date. WonderFi gives Robinhood regulated Canadian crypto trading, custody, and exchange infrastructure.
Bitget launched Reality, a platform for rTokens backed 1:1 by real shares held with a U.S. broker-dealer. The platform will give users on-chain exposure to selected U.S. stocks and ETFs inside Bitget's trading ecosystem.

Swissblock said its Bitcoin risk index reached 33 out of 100, placing Bitcoin in high-risk territory. OKX Launches Exchange OS for User-Built Crypto Markets
OKX launched Exchange OS, a platform for user-built crypto markets that OKX said can process up to 300,000 transactions per second. The platform lets users create spot, perpetuals, and outcomes markets with their own assets and governance. Exchange OS is in the first of three planned rollout phases, with broader public opening scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The first market built on Exchange OS is a predictions-style market for the FIFA World Cup.

UK Sanctions Huobi Global Over Alleged Russia Links
The UK FCDO sanctioned Huobi Global SA, which the FCDO suspects of supporting Russia, and Elliptic says linked stablecoin A7A5 has processed over $100 billion since launch in January 2025. The FCDO designation says Huobi made financial services, funds, economic resources, goods, or technology available to A7 LLC and GARANTEX Europe OU. Huobi Global and HTX also face FCA legal proceedings related to unauthorised communication of financial promotions.

Bermuda Advances Onchain Economy Plan With USDC, Coinbase and Stellar
Bermuda is scaling an onchain economy plan after a $100 USDC wallet education event and a public payment test. Craig Swan said Bermuda amended legislation to accept digital assets for public taxes, starting with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Bermuda also partnered with Circle, Coinbase and Stellar on treasury accounts, onboarding rails and an official Bermuda digital dollar. Swan said the BMA plans an AI payments hub for autonomous software transactions.
UK Sanctions HTX in Russia-Linked Crypto Exchange Sweep
The UK sanctioned Huobi Global S.A., which has rebranded to HTX, on Tuesday over suspected support for the Government of Russia. Garantex Europe OU was also named in a broader sanctions action targeting crypto exchanges, banks, and firms linked to Russia's sanctions evasion. Elliptic said the action marks the first UK use of Regulation 17A against crypto exchanges.
Strive bought 1,109 bitcoins for roughly $85.4 million, lifting total holdings to 16,500 BTC. The 8-K disclosure puts Strive ahead of Coinbase Global and Riot Platforms among public corporate bitcoin holders. Strive shares rose more than 4% on Tuesday morning.
