$NVDAB $BTC $MUB US Treasury bonds rose sharply across maturities on Monday after investors lowered their expectations for a US interest rate hike following the announcement of an agreement aimed at ending the trade war between the United States and Iran.
Yields on bonds across all maturities declined, led by short-term bonds, which are most sensitive to changes in the Federal Reserve's monetary policy.
Traders in swap markets began reassessing their interest rate expectations, with the probability of the Fed raising rates by a quarter of a percentage point by December falling to around 60%, compared to around 80% last Friday, according to the US interest rate watch tool available on Investing Saudi Arabia.
This shift coincided with a drop of more than 4% in Brent crude oil prices, easing concerns about continued inflationary pressures stemming from high energy prices.
