Taiko paused its Ethereum layer-2 network today after an attacker forged withdrawal proofs to drain roughly $1.7 million from the bridge. The exploit mirrors the same vulnerability class behind this year's largest bridge hacks. The team halted the L2 quickly, limiting damage to a fraction of the $100M+ breaches seen elsewhere in 2026. But the incident reignites debate about whether cross-chain bridge security is keeping pace with growing TVL on layer-2 networks. Bridge exploits remain one of crypto's most persistent attack vectors. Proof verification and cross-chain messaging are complex, and even audited code harbors subtle flaws. For layer-2 projects chasing institutional capital, formal verification and real-time monitoring are existential. Can bridge security ever be fully solved, or is this an inherent tradeoff for cross-chain composability? $BTC $ETH $SOL #Taiko #Ethereum #BridgeExploit #Crypto

Taiko Halts Layer-2 After $1.7M Bridge Exploit ⚠️ Taiko, an Ethereum Layer-2 network, was forced to halt operations after its bridge was exploited for an estimated $1.7 million. The incident took place on June 22 and quickly put pressure on the TAIKO token as the market reacted to the latest security risk. 🔎 According to early reports, the attacker created forged withdrawal proofs, allowing the bridge system to accept invalid transactions and release assets from the bridge and ERC-20 vault on Ethereum. This is a sensitive risk because it directly affects the verification mechanism between L2 and L1. 🛠️ Taiko responded by halting block production, advising users to remain cautious with bridges, and asking some exchanges to pause TAIKO deposits. The team later said the exploit had been contained, with the main bridge and token vault paused to prevent further outflows. 📉 Although the loss is not as large as many previous bridge hacks, the incident still weighs on trust because the flaw involved a core verification layer. In the short term, TAIKO may remain highly volatile until the project releases a full post-mortem and a clear remediation plan. #Taiko $TAIKO

I still file $TAIKO under "the careful rollup" — boring infra, steady shipping, not the loudest L2 on my feed. That framing held up until this morning. Cointelegraph's headline flipped it: Taiko urging users to withdraw after a bridge exploit drained about $1.7M. Expected vs actual is pretty stark. I was bracing for another quiet week — tooling updates, bridge traffic, the usual builder noise. What I got was an emergency pull-your-funds message while the token still shows up in trending tabs. I was scrolling Square earlier and the split was obvious. Half the posts still read like a normal L2 growth story. The other half is screenshots of the withdrawal notice. Nobody needs a lecture on bridge risk — but when the "safe and slow" brand takes the hit, it lands harder than another random exploit on a chain nobody was watching. Doesn't mean the whole rollup is done. It just means the weak spot everyone actually uses moved to center stage — not a slide deck. #Taiko #L2 #BridgeSecurity

$TAIKO This time I'm not treating it like a regular dip. On June 22, the Taiko official security notice stated that there was an issue with the chain state verification mechanism, and all bridges deployed on Taiko can no longer be considered reliable. The officials also reminded users to withdraw funds from the bridge and requested exchanges to suspend TAIKO deposits. The market has already cast its vote. The Binance TAIKOUSDT perpetual is currently around 0.0746, down 10.5% in the last 24 hours, crashing from a high of 0.0981 all the way down to 0.0736; the 1H MA20 is at 0.0849, with a 24h trading volume of about 11.94 million USDT. This volume isn’t because no one is watching; it’s because someone is repricing the risk. I’m not looking to catch the bottom just because it’s “dropped a lot.” Before the safety incident is clearly resolved, 0.0736 is the first support line; if it breaks, we’ll continue to assess based on risk release. If the price can recover to 0.0808 and then touch 0.084-0.085, I’ll consider observing it as a recovery play. Until then, there can be a bounce, but don’t take the bounce as a reversal right away. #TAIKO #链上安全 #合约交易 #风险提示 #币安广场 $TAIKO {future}(TAIKOUSDT) O

TAIKO is currently buzzing not about the drop, but about the divergence. TAIKO has seen a -24.08% dip in the past 24 hours, pulling back quite significantly. Right now, the focus isn’t just on how much it’s dropped, but whether the sell pressure is nearing its end. Current price is around 0.07, with a 24h trading volume of approximately 12.72 million. The increased volume seems more like a panic sell-off concentrating its release. Reference indicators: 30m RSI is currently at 25.00, having entered the oversold zone. Here, we can't directly equate oversold with a reversal; what's more important is whether the RSI can turn upward and if it can align with the price reclaiming the short-term moving average. The 30m super trend is at 0.067840, with the current price above it, indicating a trend continuation in structure. Bulls will be watching if the panic sentiment starts to heal; cautious traders will keep an eye on whether the trend protection level can be recaptured. If these two points clash, short-term trading could get choppy. Two possible paths ahead: one is a recovery after the panic release, and the other is a pullback on low volume continuing to weaken. I'm not rushing to conclusions; I'll wait for the next trading round to provide answers. #TAIKO #Alert
