#tendencias The activity of gaming on the blockchain shows year-on-year growth, but challenges persist

As Cointelegraph reported in February, gaming activity on the blockchain experienced a significant year-on-year increase, with daily unique active wallets soaring by 386% to 7 million. The strong rise led some industry observers to speculate about a possible bull run for blockchain gaming in 2025, although that outlook is now under debate.

One of the games that had been drawing attention to the use of blockchains in gaming was “Off The Grid.” The title, which plans to use a subnet of Avalanche, generated over 100 million transactions in its first month.

However, the sector has faced challenges. Gunzilla Games' Web3 director, Theodore Agranat, told Cointelegraph that “there is no new money coming into the system,” explaining that the existing capital is only being recycled among gaming projects.

“They will just move from project to project and extract whatever value they can from that project,” he said. “And once there is no more value to be gained there, they will move to another project.”
