Trump's plan, known as the "Deal of the Century", is a peace initiative launched by former US President Donald Trump in January 2020 to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The plan aims to establish a demilitarized Palestinian state on parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in exchange for Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, with a unified Jerusalem remaining the capital of Israel. The plan proposes Israel's annexation of settlements in the West Bank and granting Palestinians a capital in the suburbs of East Jerusalem. It also includes massive economic investments for Palestinians estimated at $50 billion. The plan faced widespread Palestinian rejection as it deprives them of their historic lands and does not guarantee the right of return for refugees. While it was welcomed by Israel and some Arab countries to varying degrees, many considered it biased towards Israel and not practically applicable. The plan reflected the Trump administration's vision that favored Israeli interests at the expense of internationally recognized Palestinian rights.
