$BTC California Governor Gavin Newsom filed a lawsuit against the wave of tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which has disrupted global trade.

The lawsuit marks the first time a state has filed a legal challenge against the tariffs and disputes the emergency powers that Trump claimed as part of his authority to impose them.

California is the fifth largest economy in the world, surpassing all U.S. locations and most countries. Additionally, it houses the majority of U.S. manufacturing and agricultural production.
