Bitfinex Report: Bitcoin Maintains Resilience Amid Market Turmoil, Outperforming Most Traditional Risk Assets
Bitfinex released its latest market research report, indicating that Bitcoin has demonstrated significant resilience during one of the most turbulent periods of macroeconomic-driven uncertainty in recent years. Although the price of Bitcoin has fallen 32% from the January peak, it remains consistent with historical levels of mid-cycle corrections in previous bull markets and has outperformed most traditional risk assets.
The price of gold has previously broken through $3,300 per ounce, setting a new historical high. This Bitcoin rebound coincides with the rise in gold prices, further corroborating the growing view that Bitcoin is evolving into a digital macro hedging tool. In the context of de-globalization, trade conflicts, and capital flight from a turbulent stock market, these two assets are increasingly seen as global neutral stores of value. Recent price trends further support this view: Since April 2 (the 'Liberation Day'), Bitcoin has behaved more like gold than stocks, showing strong rebound momentum while escaping from lows amidst continued liquidity tightening and policy uncertainty in the overall market.
