In 2010, investors began trading Bitcoin at a price below one cent. Since then, Bitcoin has experienced quite volatile price movements. The price development of Bitcoin from year to year reached a new milestone in April 2011 when the price $BTC reached $1.
Throughout 2011, btc# recorded very good value growth. In June, the value of Bitcoin rose 3,200% compared to three months earlier, bringing it to a peak price of $32.
This price increase did not last long. After two months of showing a significant upward trend, the price $BTC plummeted and reached a low of $2 in November 2011.
Bitcoin Price in 2013-2016, Experienced Two Bubble Prices
In 2013, Bitcoin experienced two bubbles – spikes in price accompanied by price declines, both occurring within a short period. The first bubble occurred in April when Bitcoin's price was $220 at the beginning of April but plummeted to $70.
The second bubble rally occurred towards the end of the year. At the beginning of December, Bitcoin's price sharply increased and touched $1,156. However, three days later, the price drastically fell to $760. Since then, Bitcoin's price continued to decline and hit a low of $315 at the beginning of 2015.
2017-2019, Bitcoin Soared to $20,089
After going through a long price decline, Bitcoin soared to $20,089 in December 2017. However, University of Texas Finance Professor John Griffin revealed to CNBC that this price increase was due to price manipulation through large volume trading.
2020-2021, All-Time High Bitcoin at $64,804
In the period from December 2020 to January 2021, its price increase reached 224%. In March 2021, Bitcoin reached a new all-time high price of around $60,000. At its peak, Bitcoin reached an all-time high price of $64,804 or equivalent to Rp939,993,000 on April 14, 2021
