#AltcoinBreakout USDT sets a new record: market capitalization exceeds 160 billion USD

Tether has just updated its transparency page, confirming that the market capitalization of the stablecoin USDT has surpassed the 160 billion USD mark – the highest ever. CEO Paolo Ardoino called this an “amazing milestone” and affirmed that USDT is becoming the digital dollar for billions of people in developing countries.

This achievement is supported by significant profits from US Treasury bonds – the main reserve source of USDT (accounting for 81.5%). In Q1 2025, Tether earned over 1 billion USD in operational profits. Currently, Tether holds more than 127 billion USD in US Treasury bonds – equivalent to countries like South Korea or Germany.
