On March 22, 2024, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) issued the "Regulations on Promoting and Regulating Cross-Border Data Flow," which further clarifies:
• Cross-border transmission of personal information involving more than 1 million people or sensitive personal information of more than 10,000 people requires a security assessment and ensures data encryption.
• Enterprises must establish encryption mechanisms to prevent data leakage and conduct regular compliance audits.
