On November 15, 2025, Jack's father set out from Atlanta, traveling along Interstate 20 towards Birmingham to help take care of Jack's grandmother. He had just updated the FSD v14.1.3 version on his 2026 Model Y development version, which happened to be perfect for this trip.

At about 3:50 AM, his phone rang. It was a call from his father. He was experiencing severe chest pain, almost losing consciousness and unable to safely control the vehicle anymore. But FSD was already activated and still driving. The author immediately called his grandfather, and they had only a few seconds to make a decision.

His grandfather contacted Jack's uncle in Douglasville, Georgia, who told them there was a Tanaar Medical Center nearby, just off the West 20 highway where Jack's father was. He immediately looked up the address on Google Maps and shared the destination with his Tesla through the app. As an authorized driver on his account, Jack was able to remotely change his Juniper FSD navigation—all from his 2014 Model S (equipped with Openpilot). Of course, Jack had long been heading in that direction.

What happened next still sends chills down Jack's spine.

His Model Y had just passed the Carrollton exit. The car then headed to the next exit, turned around, re-entered I-20 East, and returned to the Carrollton exit. It then drove along local roads and stopped directly in front of the Tanaar Medical Center emergency room entrance. Despite still struggling to maintain consciousness, he was able to switch to 'Mad Max' mode to get there in the fastest and safest way possible. They had called ahead, and the emergency room staff was ready and waiting.

He was diagnosed with a severe ST elevation myocardial infarction. Three arteries needed immediate intervention. The doctors later told them that if he had stopped to wait for an ambulance or tried to continue to Birmingham, he would not have survived.

What they didn't know at the time was that the Tanaar Medical Center in Carrollton specializes in cardiac care through the Adams Heart Center. They had interventional cardiologists on standby who could immediately provide cardiac treatment upon the patient's arrival. God had placed us right where they needed to be.

He is still alive today because of the following four points:

1/ God

2/ The Tesla FSD system allowed the vehicle to safely navigate the roads when his father couldn't drive in person.

3/ The Tesla App enabled Jack to remotely control his vehicle from miles away, sending it to the nearest hospital.

4/ The incredible staff at the Tanaar Health team were ready and saved his life.

This technology should be used by more people. FSD is not just a convenient feature—it is a lifeline.
