There seem to be quite a few new AI projects recently, but the mainstream AI is basically in the hands of large companies, with closed source and black box approaches, prices can rise as they please, and the data and response styles are also beyond users' control. In simple terms, users can only passively accept whatever is given.
The @SentientAGI project has taken a different approach: open source, community-driven, aiming to make AI closer to everyone.
Here are a few points:
🔹GRID: A bunch of small agents working together.
🔹"Loyal AI": Claims to be more responsive to the community, less likely to go off the rails.
🔹Model fingerprints: Signing the model to prove ownership.
🔹OML, revenue-sharing agreements, etc.: Allowing developers, hosts, and validators to share in the benefits.
In terms of funding, they are not lacking either, with Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal directly involved, and they raised 85 million USD in July last year, investing in major institutions like Pantera, Framework, and Founders Fund.
SentientAGI seems like a testing ground for "AI + blockchain", aiming for more transparency and open source; whether it can go far depends on how the community plays it.
