šØ$5BILLION to be seized by Germany from Movie2k???!
Last year, German authorities pulled off their biggest crypto seizure ever - almost 50,000 BTC from the piracy site Movie2K. They sold it fast at around $58K per coin, banking $2.8B. Sounds impressive⦠until you realize Bitcoin soon ripped past $100K. That stash wouldāve been worth over $5B.
Now hereās the kicker. Arkham just revealed another 45,000 BTC - worth nearly $5B today - still sitting in wallets tied to Movie2K. Untouched since 2019. Spread across more than 100 wallets. And Germany hasnāt touched it.
Why? Because it isnāt that simple. To seize it, prosecutors need to prove the coins are actually tied to Movie2K in court. Until then, theyāre out of reach. And with those wallets frozen in time, it feels like a ticking treasure chest waiting to be claimed.
If Berlin gets their hands on it, theyāll face the same dilemma again. Sell fast under legal rules - or hold through the next parabolic run. Last time they chose quick cash and left billions on the table.
Hereās the bigger picture: governments are sitting on digital gold mines, but most still donāt know how to play the game. Meanwhile, the blockchain never forgets.
Germanyās missed billions are a reminder. Bitcoin doesnāt just create wealth - it only favor the clever ones.
