The 2026 Hurun Global Rich List is out: Elon Musk retains the title of the world's richest person with 5.5 trillion yuan, while Zhang Yiming of ByteDance becomes the richest in China with 550 billion yuan.
On March 5, the "2026 Hurun Global Rich List" was officially released. 54-year-old Elon Musk has become the world's richest person for the fifth time in six years, with a wealth of 5.5 trillion yuan, a significant increase of 89%. 62-year-old Jeff Bezos of Amazon ranks second with 2.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 13%. Larry Page of Alphabet saw his wealth grow by 65%, reaching 1.9 trillion yuan, marking his first entry into the top three. Jensen Huang of Nvidia entered the top ten for the first time, with a wealth of 1.2 trillion yuan.
In China, the biggest increase is seen in AI-related companies, with Zhang Yiming of ByteDance increasing his wealth by over 130 billion yuan, reaching 550 billion yuan, ranking first. Zhong Shanshan of Nongfu Spring and Ma Huateng of Tencent rank second and third respectively.
