Most people assume robots compete on hardware.

Better sensors.

Faster movement.

Smarter autonomy.

That matters in the lab.

In real deployments something else decides who actually makes money.

Task allocation.

I saw this in an automated operations system a few years ago. Multiple machines could perform the same job, and on paper the network was neutral. Any operator meeting the requirements could receive work.

But after a few weeks a pattern started appearing in the task queue.

Some operators kept receiving the cleanest jobs.

Not more jobs — just safer ones.

Tasks that cleared verification quickly.

Environments where failure rates stayed low.

Nothing in the rules said this should happen.

But once the queue starts routing work slightly more often to the same operators, the advantage compounds.

Completion history improves.

Reliability signals strengthen.

The allocation logic trusts them a little more next cycle.

Eventually the queue starts training the network.

Not through governance.

Through distribution.

That’s the lens I use when looking at Fabric.

If robots begin earning $ROBO for verified work, hardware won’t be the main constraint.

Dispatch will.

Verification proves the job was completed.

But dispatch quietly decides who gets the opportunity to complete it in the first place.

If the allocation layer stays balanced under load, machines compete on execution.

If not, the queue slowly teaches the same participants how to win.

And most of the time nobody notices until the distribution patterns stop looking random.
