Damn, I exchanged 200 pounds cash before going to London for the Gem-A gemology Diploma exam in the winter of 2017, and today when I went to the money changer they surprisingly refused to exchange, saying that this batch of banknotes has already been withdrawn from circulation and has all been replaced with plastic currency.

If I want to exchange, I can only do so at the rate of 1.4 paper pounds for 1 plastic pound.

I'll just keep it as a souvenir.

Cash should also be spent early, otherwise it will depreciate.
