Iran has issued an evacuation order for major American tech companies in the Middle East, declaring their offices, data centers, and infrastructure as "legitimate targets" in the context of the ongoing infrastructure war.
This move, announced by the Tasnim agency linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), follows drone attacks by Iran on Amazon's AWS data centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, which caused structural damage, power outages, and disruptions to cloud services.
The specifically named companies include Amazon AWS with cloud operations in the UAE and Bahrain; Google with offices in the UAE and Israel (including Tel Aviv and Dubai); Microsoft with data centers in the UAE and Israel; Apple with stores and locations in the UAE; Oracle with cloud services in the UAE, Israel, and Saudi Arabia; along with IBM, Cisco, Intel, Nvidia, Palantir, Salesforce, Adobe, Qualcomm, and Dell.
The IRGC has listed about 30 specific sites, including Googleโs office in Dubai, Nvidiaโs R&D center in Haifa, IBMโs AI lab in Be'er Sheva, and Palantir locations in Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, justifying the selection with ties to U.S. and Israeli military activities, such as the Nimbus project.
These are not military bases, but vital infrastructure for cloud, personal data, phones, and global daily services, which now risk being "fair game."
Some companies are already evacuating personnel: Amazon orders smart working, Google activates security protocols, while tech markets fluctuate over the implications.
This escalation, ignored by mainstream media amid rumors of ceasefire, marks a shift to an "infrastructure war" with potential global blackouts.
